Gina's Dream Wedding

From a young age, many little girls dream of their wedding day, and I was one of them. I still have my wedding book with pictures of dresses and cakes and flowers, oh my! Although many things have changed through the years, planning my dream wedding has not.

Season
Fall is my absolute favorite season! I love the colors, the weather, and the smell. October is also my parents' anniversary so that would be very special to me if a Saturday in October matched with their date.

Fall also has so many signature elements that I would love to incorporate.

Caramel/Candy Apples will double as escort cards and favors

S'mores are one of my favorite treats and what's a better way to warm up from the brisk fall weather than by roasting some marshmallows with a S'mores bar!

Ceremony
The ceremony will be in a church decorated in purple calla lilies and baby's breath aisle markers. My hair will be down in curls for the ceremony and placed up for the reception later, a detail my pin-straight hair will be thankful for.

Venue/Decor
Coming from a big Italian family, I want something different for my guests to experience and creating a rustic ambiance for the big day will do just that.

A winery as the venue will do the trick! I fell in love with the Valenzano Winery as soon as I walked into the ballroom. This quaint winery near my hometown has a friendly staff, a ballroom to fit my 150 person (hopefully smaller) wedding, an outside cocktail space, and of course, great wine.

The color scheme would be a deep purple, gray, and white with plum bridesmaids dresses, gray tuxes, purple and white flowers, and chalkboards and wine barrels around the reception.

Centerpieces like this:

Bridal bouquet would be white ranunculus and baby's breath.

Bridesmaids bouquets will have mini calla lilies which would complement the groomsmen boutonnieres.

Reception
Cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing! The DJ will play a mix of oldies and current pop tunes to keep the dance floor packed.

Following the formalities and toasts, we welcome dessert. Ever since I studied abroad in Italy, I developed a major sweet tooth and my favorite dessert to bake- cupcakes!!

As the night comes to a close, we will have a midnight snack of Zeppoles, my family's favorite Italian pastry.

I admit, we may get carried away planning our wedding days, but one detail never to be overlooked is the reason why we are celebrating. Finding your perfect soul mate is what will make any wedding a dream wedding come true.
