Seasonal Inspiration {Fall}

Fall has become an incredibly popular time of the year for couples to get married and it's easy to see why. The cool crisp air is a welcome relief from the summer heat and brings a sense of excitement for days filled with cozy sweaters, apple picking and pumpkin pie. The rich colors and falling leaves alone can provide the perfect backdrop for your big day. There's just so much to be inspired by.

Because Fall is such a diverse season that changes dramatically from September to November, brides can easily choose from a wide variety of palettes ranging from bold jewel tones to warm earth tones and anything in between. Here are some of the colors that are expected to be popular this year.

Fall fashion is always full of gorgeous looks and trends and wedding gowns are no exception. This season's gowns showcase so many beautiful fabrics and emphasize striking textures and elegant details. Pleats, sheer layers, swirl patterns, ruffles, bows and sleeves are some of the most popular design features. The best part is that you'll be able to find great options in long and short lengths, both of which can be worn during the Fall months.

No dress is complete without accessories. Colorful cardigans are a really cute way to add a little whimsy to your wedding day look and they'll keep you warm as you party your way through the night.

Bold jewelry is a great way to make a statement. Gold pieces are perfect for Fall. An intricate gold headband or dangling topaz earrings like these are a great way to warm up any bridal look.

Flowers can really highlight your color scheme and there are plenty to choose from this time of year. Dahlias, Zinnias, Chrysanthemums and Asters are just a few of the blooms in season. These bouquets are two great examples of the different looks that can be achieved for a Fall wedding. They combine popular flowers with unique textural elements such as berries, thistle and even artichokes.

Table decor is a great way to show off some of the best aspects of the season. Long tables like these wooden ones just scream Fall! Natural elements like pinecones, acorns and leaves really add to the rustic feel. An assortment of colored glassware, from votives and vases to stemware and chargers, can add a whole new layer of warmth to your wedding.

If you're looking for something a little less rustic, try crisp dark linens and chivari chairs. Add pops of color with a variety of flowers. Use antique silver vessels as vases to complete this romantic look.

Details can really make your wedding day stand out. Seasonal place cards are a great touch. Attach your guests' names and table numbers to pumpkins, apples, pears or pomegranates.

Burlap is really versatile and can be paired with colors from virtually any palette. It's a great addition to stationery. Use it as a belly band for your invitations or backing for menus and programs. You can create a table runner with it, wrap votives in it, or place your favors inside it. The options are endless.

Wheat is another popular wedding day detail for the Fall. You can incorporate it into the aisle decor at your ceremony or use it as a substitute for traditional bouquets, boutonnieres or centerpieces.

Last, but certainly not least is food. It's easy to be inspired by the hearty comfort foods of the season. Warm up your guests with apple cider or add a touch of Fall to dessert by setting up a pie bar complete with your favorite flavors.
