Signage

When it comes to keeping your guests informed throughout your wedding day, signage is a great way to do that. It's also a great way to add in touches of your color scheme and/or theme and add decor touches in an understated way.

Chair signs, bar signs, menus on buffet tables or stations, signs describing your favors or inviting people to a candy buffet, directional arrows or signs telling guests how to get to the reception, a cute do not disturb sign to hang on the door of your honeymoon suite, etc. There are so many creative and cute ways that signs can be used throughout your wedding day. 

I love chair signs. They make for great photo ops, they point out important people, and you can set your chairs apart and proclaim yourselves as Mr. and Mrs. on your special day.

Directional signs are a nice touch and can add a lot of personality and character to your wedding. There are tons of creative ways to word signs to let guests know what is taking place where. For example, a sign with "I Do" and an arrow pointing one direction and "we did" and an arrow pointing the other direction is a cute way to say the ceremony is this way and the reception is that way. 

This "happily ever after" sign from Lauren and Peter's wedding is simple and to the point. And super cute!

And I absolutely LOVE the wooden sign the couple displayed between the reception tent and garden that pointed towards all the places Lauren and Peter traveled together.

If you're planning to have a signature cocktail or special drinks, it's a good idea to have a sign on the bar that tells your guests what the drink is. It's also another chance to add a nice detail and show off your theme and/or color scheme. And don't forget about food signs for cocktail hour, your dinner buffet or stations.

I like this simple bar sign from Jennifer and Jonathan's wedding. It matched all of their other stationery- plus they came up with some great names for their special drinks!

It's not necessarily signage, but I had to include this incredibly creative seating chart from Cara and Andy's wedding. Re-purposed doors as reception entrance and seating chart. How cool is this?!

These flower initials from Erica and Gene's wedding are a nice touch. They were placed on the doors leading to the ceremony. And a great way to keep things cohesive is to move them after the ceremony and display them at the reception.
