Katie and John were married in August in Philadelphia. Everyone spent the morning getting ready at The Union League. Katie and John planned their wedding from Ireland, where they both live and where John has lived his entire life. One of my favorite details of their day, was from Katie's bridesmaids. To pay tribute to John's Irish roots, the bridesmaids dyed their shoes to match the colors on Ireland's flag- so cute! The couple said their vows in the historic church in Philadelphia and then headed off for the reception. They first stopped at the Art Museum to get a few pictures taken of just them and then they finished up the remaining pictures with their bridal party at The Old Mill. There are so many great spaces to take pictures there! Guests enjoyed a delicious cocktail hour outside right before it started to pour. We got really lucky that the rain held off until every was inside! The ballroom was decorated with all cream and white flowers on the tables and gray menus that matched the neutral color scheme the couple chose. Guests found their seats by finding their names on a faux chalkboard seating chart and signed the couple's thumbprint tree guestbook. Guests showered the couple with a lot of meaningful toasts and then they were able to enjoy a killer dance party put on by Jellyroll! The storm outside even knocked the power out for a little while but it didn't stop everyone from having a good time! At the end of the reception, guests were invited to an after party at the bride's parent's house that went all night. A great day from start to finish!
Congratulations Katie and John!
