Teaser Tuesday

It's fun coordinating any wedding, but we have to say it's even more fun when we know the couple, so we couldn't wait for Katie and Matt's big day this past Saturday! After slipping into her beautiful lace strapless gown, Katie and her bridesmaids jumped in a limo and headed over to Talamore Country Club to meet Matt and the groomsmen for the first look. They were able to take advantage of the gorgeous grounds at the country club before heading over to United Methodist Church of Huntingdon Valley to say I do! Siena Strings played the processional and recessional songs which were all Beatles themed. After the ceremony, it was back to Talamore for the cocktail hour where guests got to mingle and fill out cute mad lib cards that the couple provided. The reception space was beautifully decorated with gold table runners and white floral centerpieces created by Willow and Thistle, along with mercury glass votives and slate table numbers that the bride rented from us. Chris from SEK Productions had all the guests dancing the whole night and guests only seemed to take breaks when getting their photo taken in the First Rate Photobooth. All of the fun was captured on film by Elijah from Well Spun Weddings and Jackie Bayne from Love Shack Photo, snapped away at all of the memorable moments from this fantastic wedding! Big thank you to Jackie for sending us so many teasers to choose from- we can't wait to share all of them!! -Caitlin
Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day for a wedding. Kate was a stunning bride and you could feel all the love and happiness radiating from everyone around her! The bridesmaids were dressed in beautiful navy Jenny Yoo gowns and the groomsmen were very handsome in tan colored three piece suits with navy and green striped ties. Kate and Adam did their first look in the beautiful rose garden at Brandywine Park, followed by some bridal party pictures throughout the park. Their personalized ceremony took place at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington and their incredible tented reception was held on the bride's family's farm. The entire day was captured by David Campli Photography and CinemaCake. Gorgeous bouquets and florals were crated by Sweet Peas of Jennersville and were the perfect touch for this wedding. The delicious menu was created by Toscana Catering and after filling their bellies, guests headed to the dance floor for a night full of dancing thanks to All About Me. The bride and groom were surprised with and event painter and fireworks! It was a perfect day and I wish Kate and Adam all the best! -Becky

Brooke and Sean's Wedding

The wedding of Brooke and Sean took place on a spectacular day in October! The sun was shining and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Brooke and her bridesmaids started the day at Ame Salon and Spa and then headed to Manufacturer's Golf and Country Club to get dressed. They held their ceremony outside, overlooking the golf course. Sheryl from Weddings with Heart performed a lovely ceremony and the Haverford School Boys Choir stole the show, when they performed a few songs after the unity candle lighting. Amaranth Florist did a great job with the bouquets and arrangements which were all autumn colors. The centerpieces were a mix of high and low, the highs being branches with candles and the lows were a mix of sunflowers, roses and a lot of greens. Guests enjoyed a wonderful buffet dinner and when it was time to get the party started, Schaffer Sound Disc Jockeys did just that! This was a big dancing group and the dance floor was packed all night. Their cake was created by Cake Art Studio and was decorated with sugar leaves! Thank you to Brenda Carpenter Photography for sending us these images. This was her last wedding ever as she'll be focusing on her portrait photography but she definitely went out with a bang with this one!

Congratulations Brooke and Sean!

Featured Bride Friday

We are so excited for our fall weddings! Read on below to find out about one of our October brides, Erin and her fiance, Rhett!

Names of Bride and Groom: Erin and Rhett

Wedding Date: October 15th, 2011

Ceremony Location: Lower veranda at White Clay Creek Country Club

Reception Location: Veranda Room at White Clay Creek Country Club

How did you and your fiance meet?: We met on Fat Tuesday in 2008. I was not happy to be at the bar my friends went to. A friend of mine knew a friend of Rhett's and they started talking. Rhett made a comment about how he liked my "red" shoes. I politely replied "they are pink," which incited a friendly banter about my shoe color. (Technically, they are raspberry.) We talked about many other things that night, including our mutual love of horses and exchanged numbers. Our first official date was a week later.

Tell us about the proposal: Every year since we've been together we vacation with my parents and our dogs in Saratoga Springs, NY over Labor Day weekend. This also happens to be closing weekend at Saratoga Racetrack, which is the primary reason we travel there. 2 years ago, while at the racetrack, we were walking and one of us mentioned that a proposal on the finish line at the racetrack finish would be a good spot. The following year, my parents and brother joined us after the races for a drink. Rhett, my dad and brother, separated themselves from myself and my mom to "go to the bathroom." While they were gone, I spent the time complaining to my mom how he kept saying that because of the economy we couldn't get engaged until the end of the year (I thought he was having cold feet). Rhett and the rest of my family returned and we starting walking. He started saying really sweet things about how much he loves me but he always says things like that so I still wasn't catching on. The next thing I knew, he wasn't next to me anymore because he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him. Of course I said "YES!!!!"

What is the overall theme of your wedding?: Our wedding theme reflects our mutual love of horses. Our wedding colors are Orange and Purple with Dark Brown accents (Rhett went to Clemson University). We've used our theme from the placecard table (interlocking horseshoes made from daisies), to the signature drink (mint julep...of course!!), to the placecards (featuring jockey jersey in different colors to denote meal choice) and lastly to our "Mr and Mrs" chair signs which will say "Stallion" and "Filly."

What has been your favorite part of planning?: Thinking of ways to incorporate our theme without being too overbearing.

What has been your fiance's favorite part of the planning?: Good question...

What are your looking forward to most on the wedding day?: Celebrating with friends and family!!!!!

What is your fiance most looking forward to on the wedding day?: He says seeing me walk down the aisle.

Which vendor has been your favorite to work with?: TJ and Erin Proud!!! (I swear this isn't a solicited plug.) TJ has been really helpful and the invitations came out unique and beautiful. He's helped make my ideas come alive. Also, TJ and Erin helped bail me out of an invite fiasco (After I ran them over with my car. Long story......)

What is your biggest worry about the wedding day?: Weather...the ceremony is outside. It's covered but I'm worried I'm worried it will be too chilly or too hot.

What makes your wedding unique from all the others?: I think our theme and ways we've incorporated it, is pretty unique.

Give three words to describe how you imagine you'll feel like the day AFTER the wedding: Tired, Excited and full of Love.

Where will you be spending your honeymoon?: We are island hopping for 2 weeks!!!!! (Thanks to my awesome and loving fiance!!!)

Thanks for participating Erin! Below you can see their invitation and a picture that is the inspiration for their centerpieces.
